Ozone vertical profiles for complete year

Data below originally obtained from http://www.cmdl.noaa.gov/ozwv/ozsondes/spo/.  Updates can be found here also.

The figures below give a good look at the ozone hole formation above the south pole.  The vertical axis is altitude above Earth's surface, the horizontal axis is the day of the year, and the color indicates ozone concentration (in ppm) with red being high and blue being low.  Click to enlarge each picture.  On the right of each image is a quick time movie of essentially the same data.  Instead of ozone concentratations being color coded the movies show graphs for different days with the y-axis being altitude and the x-axis being ozone concentration.  Seeing the data presented in alternate ways often helps one understand it better.
